Discuss: NXE: Welcome to the New Xbox Experience

Just downloaded the NXE and poked around it a bit.  The party sytstem and Netflix integration are probably the highlights.  It will be good to hear some reports from our members with your Netflix experience.

At this point I am not too excited about having avatars dancing or sleeping on the screen.  They are cute, but I do not play my xbox for something cute.  For that I have the Wii.

I was hoping there may be an increase in the marketplace speed when browsing for content.  If anything it feels slower because of the box art that gets loaded with every title. Once it loads it does look good though.

Browsing arcade games I own is also still way slow.  You would think that games that I own and are loaded on my console would popup quickly.

I'm going to go out on a limb and get it once I get my mythical 15 metre modem cable and that free Gold month.

Out of curiosity, is NXE gonna standard on all 360 consoles as of 2009?

Its not as bad as i thought. Has some neat features and the Avatars aren't that gay.

The avatars aren't gay ... it's the people who make them gay!  lolololol  I just made mine look like Gordon Freeman, so it's all good.

Party system is great.  I got into a party with Miles and another friend and we jumped right into Left 4 Dead, and never broke stride.  Installing games on your hard drive is great too.  Doesn't take too long, and the disc drive is super quiet while you're playing.

i have enjoyed it thoroughly so far, i set up Netflix, it works rather well, and is in HD!

the avatar wasnt that bad, i wanna teek mine a little, and i wanna be able to make my body larger, to match my 6' 3" 275 lb frame, lol.

i played the left for dead demo, it was pretty cool, seems like it would be fun with friends

Left 4 Dead is a great co-op game (and yes hoZt, it has local as well).  However, it probably won't have too much longevity for some.  The levels are pretty short.  There is added replay value, but it's not going to be enough to keep me away from other games.

And it's looking like I'll be getting a copy of CoD:WaW soon, so since that's all my friends list is playing right now, you'll see me on there too.  Complaining about WWII again, but I'll be on a little bit around Thanksgiving...
